Benidorm is a large town that is ever popular with holiday makers from all over Europe, most especially the British. It boasts a wonderful coastal location on the Costa Blanca area of Spain. If you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the main centre of Benidorm, there is plenty to see in the local area. Just a little outside of Benidorm is a vast landscape of mountains and hillsides. Nestled in these hills are many beautiful small towns and villages. One of them is Altea, a picturesque white wash village on a hilltop. It is only a fifteen minute journey from Benidorm, but is a million miles away in terms of lifestyle. This quiet and slow paced village is beautiful if you want somewhere to come and appreciate the landscape, as its optimum position nestled in the hills offers beautiful panoramic views out across the ocean and the bay of Benidorm.
